Our commitment to fair and transparent billing. Here's everything you need to know about cancellations, refunds, and plan changes.

Free Plan
The Free plan is available at no cost with no time limit. No payment method is required to use the Free plan, and there is nothing to refund. Free plan users are subject to the usage limits described on our pricing page and may upgrade to a paid plan at any time.
Paid Subscriptions — General Policy
FirstSlate Pro and Studio plans are billed on a monthly or annual cycle, as selected at checkout. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
We offer a 7-day refund window from the date of your initial subscription purchase or annual renewal. If you are not satisfied with your paid plan within the first 7 days, contact us at hello@firstslate.co and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.
After the 7-day window, payments are non-refundable. You will retain access to your paid plan features through the end of your current billing period.
Monthly Subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions renew automatically each month on the anniversary of your subscription start date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again, and your account will revert to the Free plan at the end of the period. No partial-month refunds are issued.
Annual Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are billed in full at the start of each year. Annual plans receive a discounted rate compared to monthly billing.
If you cancel an annual plan after the 7-day refund window, you will retain access to your paid features through the end of the annual period. Unused months are not refunded. At the end of the period, your account will revert to the Free plan.
Plan Downgrades
If you downgrade from a higher-tier plan to a lower-tier plan, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not receive a prorated credit or refund for the remaining period on your current plan. Your billing will reflect the lower-tier price starting on your next renewal date.
Plan Upgrades
If you upgrade from a lower-tier plan to a higher-tier plan mid-cycle, you will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period. The new plan features become available immediately upon upgrade.
Account Termination by FirstSlate
If we terminate your account due to a violation of our Terms of Service, you will not be entitled to a refund for any remaining period of a paid subscription. If we terminate your account for reasons unrelated to a violation on your part, we will issue a prorated refund for the unused portion of your current billing period.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Stripe processing fees are non-recoverable and may be deducted from the refund amount in some cases.
